Get help with loneliness

AgeUK provides local support services, workshops and resources to help you deal with and overcome loneliness. Support you if you feel lonely, have no one to talk to, lost your confidence in getting out and talking to people.

What can they do for you?

• Help you through the things that are contributing to your feelings of being isolated & lonely.

• Give you the opportunity to spend time in the company of others.

• You can meet and talk to other people and make new friends.

• You can even find out and get involved in other interests & activities in the local community.

• It will help you maintain your independence and enable you to find support information and services that will help you to stay in your own home longer.

How do they do it?

• A member of their team will be allocated to support you, and together, you will identify things that you can do to help yourself.

• You will work together with the support worker over a 12-week period, achieving short- and long-term goals which will be mutually set.

• The aim during that 12-week period is to help you get back into the community and regain your confidence in meeting other people and have new places to go and people to meet.

What benefits could you experience?

• You will have people who you can meet and talk to and maintain your independence.

• You will feel part of the community and, over time, less alone and more supported.

Where do they operate?
