Dorset Diabetes

Support for people across Dorset living with diabetes.

NHS logo

While most patients will receive their main diabetes care from their GP or practice nurse, their Intermediate Diabetes Dietetics Service helps people control and manage their condition on a day-to-day basis.

Based in clinics around the county, the specialist staff work with patients to improve their knowledge and skills in order to help prevent both short- and long-term complications from diabetes.

For people newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, they also run education sessions to help them learn more about the condition and manage it effectively.

If you or your loved one would like to access their diabetes service, please speak to your social prescriber.
